Collective agreements and minimum wages in the electrical industry

As the German Trade Union Confederation states on its website, "[the] collective agreements of the DGB Temporary Employment Collective Agreement apply to around 98 percent of the approximately 816,000 temporary workers throughout Germany."

The 98 percent includes all Tsemporary workerswho are "employed by an employer who is a member of the Federal Employers' Association of Personnel Service Providers (BAP) or the German Temporary Employment Agency Association (iGZ) or - without being a member - applies one of the two collective bargaining agreements."

In other words: If your company falls into one of these categories, then you must pay your temporary workers in accordance with the industry's collective agreements.

Further information is provided by the German Trade Union Confederation (DGB) on its website available. According to the DGB, the Sector minimum wage for the electrical trade 13.95 per hour since January 1, 2024. On January 1, 2025, the minimum wage will rise to 14.41 euros.
